Background

Chinatown-International District (CID) Community Watch helps plan, organize, and support different initiatives that positively impact the community. The organization started as a Night Watch but realized a greater need in the community. The organization has several projects and events, including care packages for the less fortunate, clean-up days, and self-defense classes. Learn more about CID Community Watch here.

Logo Design

My first design project for CID Community Watch was to create the organization's official logo. I started my design process by sketching out some ideas for the logo. The main visuals I wanted to highlight in the logo were the pagoda (the location where volunteers would typically meet) and the community. Throughout my sketches and iterations, I would consult feedback from my peers to ensure that my designs reflected the organization and its mission.

For the final design, I chose to make the logo curvier and rounded to evoke the feeling of friendliness, inclusion, and support. Also, the colors exhibited the warmth and welcoming environment of the organization.

Poster Designs
